Artistic Boston Wedding | Maggie and Crosby

Maggie and Crosby’s artistic wedding in Boston was one of the coolest I photographed last year!

I second shot this one for my friend and colleague Gabby Riggieri and it was an honor to work with her, as usual. Maggie and Crosby chose to get married at SoWa Powerstation, a massive brick building in the heart of Boston. It was the perfect blank canvas for them to execute their wedding vision, and the AE Events team helped them bring everything to life. The large space held everything from the ceremony stage to the dance floor, to the long rows of tables where guests ate dinner. And there was even space on the second floor for a disco-themed after-party.

The couple did their first look and portraits with Boston’s nearby Ink Block as the backdrop. It was so much fun to photograph everything in front of all the colorful murals. After portraits, Maggie and Crosby were married in a very personal ceremony. It took place on a round stage laden with floral installations, and their guests sat in a circular formation around them. Then, guests got to enjoy a cocktail hour around the massive round bar crowned with a light installation.

This wedding was in November, and the color palette and decor all had a quintessential cozy autumn vibe. The reception tables were adorned with leafy branches and floral arrangements. And there were even botanical light designs projected on the venue’s walls.

The photos below were mostly shot on 35mm film, with some digital and fun shots on my Holga mixed in. I still have a few spots open for 2024 elopements and intimate weddings, so if you’re interested get in touch and let’s chat!
