I’m so excited to share some photos from Ellen and Howie’s gorgeous and colorful wedding at Mass MoCA. I was honored to second shoot this one alongside my talented friend Gabby Riggieri. Mass MoCA is a beautiful contemporary art museum tucked away in the Berkshires, and it has quickly become one of my favorite wedding venues in the Northeast.
On top of getting married at the museum, Howie and Ellen chose to get ready at Tourists, which is a really cool and thoughtfully designed hotel just a short drive away. I cannot say enough about what a difference getting ready at a place like this can make for the overall photographs. The spaces all have beautiful light and interesting architecture, and it makes photographing there an absolute pleasure. After a first look and some portraits around the hotel, the couple and their family and friends traveled to the museum. We got to take more photographs in some of the museum galleries, and then the wedding ceremony was held under an art installation that actually had a family connection to the bride! It made an already lovely ceremony space even more meaningful.
After the ceremony, everyone ate and danced and celebrated with modern art and colorful, minimalist floral arrangements. I adored all of the style Ellen and Howie incorporated throughout the day, from the fashion to the personalized chuppah, to the mismatched wedding party bouquets and boutonnieres.
But enough talking, I’m going to now let you look at the photos, which are a mixture of digital and 35mm film.
