Madison & Ken: A Catskills Engagement Session at Foxfire Mountain House

Madison emailed me a couple of months ago telling me she was surprising Ken with a weekend away at the gorgeous Foxfire Mountain House in the Catskills and asking me if I would be willing to meet them there for their engagement session. And let me tell you I was sooo excited when I got that email and only too happy to make the trip out. Not only are the Catskill Mountains absolutely gorgeous, but Foxfire Mountain House is the coziest and most impeccably decorated hotel.

We spent the afternoon hanging out in Madison and Ken’s hotel room and then took some photos in the lovely common areas, sprawling back porch, and the glass house on the hotel’s grounds. Then, we piled into our cars and drove to Minnewaska State Park a few towns over. This weekend was actually one of the coldest weekends of the winter so far, but Madison and Ken were such good sports braving the chilly temperatures and running around in the woods – especially Madison on her stunning dramatic velvet dress. We ended the session at sunset on some epic cliffs overlooking the lake, and even though we were battered by the freezing wind, you’d never know it from how happy they looked cuddling together.

These two are also just amazing. From the minute we met them, they made us feel welcome. We chatted about everything from their wedding plans to some of our favorite authors. And it was wonderful.

As always, thank you to my amazing associate Jess Nadolski. Jess typically doesn’t come to engagement sessions with me, but I sprained my wrist quite badly that week and Jess saved the day by driving us to and from the Catskills! And be sure to scroll to the end for the video of their session!
