I have some big news to share—I’m moving to Australia! This autumn, I’m packing up my cameras and heading to Perth, Western Australia, to start a new chapter both personally and professionally. It’s a huge change, but one that feels completely right.
Perth isn’t just any city to me—it’s always been a second home. My dad grew up there, and I have family spread across the region. I’ve been visiting since I was a baby, spending summers biking around Rottnest Island with my cousins, wandering the markets in Fremantle, and swimming at Cottesloe Beach, near my aunt and uncle’s house. My dad used to surf those same waves when he was younger—though the area looks a lot different (and a lot busier) now than it did back then. Every time I go back, it feels a little harder to leave. A few years ago after a visit, my husband and I both remarked that going to Perth feels like going home to us. There’s a connection there that we want to explore and deepen, and we are finally taking the leap.
For years, I’ve photographed weddings and elopements on film and digital across New England and New York, drawn to the raw, unscripted moments that make each couple’s story unique. There’s something about the rocky Maine coastline that reminds me of parts of Western Australia—though Maine is definitely much colder! The landscapes are completely different, too—New England’s dense forests and mountains contrast with Perth’s vast open spaces, scrubby bushland, and rugged coastline. I can’t wait to bring my documentary-style photography to a whole new backdrop. And to meet a whole new community of wedding vendors and amazing couples!
I’ve already started researching some of the most breathtaking venues in Western Australia—places like Perth City Farm, Caversham House in the Swan Valley, Darlington Estate, Core Cider House in the Perth Hills, Donnelly River Village, Chambre Estate in Margaret River, or the dramatic coastal cliffs near Yallingup. Whether it’s an intimate ceremony by the ocean, a vineyard wedding in the southwest, or a laid-back celebration in the city, I’m excited to capture love stories in a way that feels honest, cinematic, and true to the couples I work with. And of course I will be bringing the film photography with me!
While I haven’t photographed weddings in Australia yet, I am excited to bring my style as film and digital documentary photographer to the area!
If you or someone you know is planning a wedding in Perth, Margaret River, the Swan Valley, or anywhere in Western Australia, I’d love to chat. I’m already booking weddings for late 2025 through 2026, and I can’t wait to start this new chapter.
In the meantime, I’ll be sharing more about the move, my travels, and my work—both past and future. If you want to follow along, stay tuned here or reach out anytime. I can’t wait to make Western Australia home.
