Jamie and Elena had an elegant wedding by the ocean with sophisticated vibes everywhere.

I was so excited when Jamie and Elena hired me to photograph their wedding at a cosy inn at the seashore. Elena told me she envisioned elegance and neutral colours set amidst the natural beauty of the area.  And that is exactly what this day turned out to be!

Elena is an avid cold plunger, and she wanted to start her wedding day off with Jamie by cold plunging into the ocean water. I was happy to photograph it and even got to jump in the water with them.

Elena and Jamie got ready near each other with their closest friends and family. I just love when couples choose to do something that feels like them even if it’s not traditional. Right before Elena was ready to get dressed, we sent Jamie away so he would still be surprised at their first look. Elena actually designed her own dress at Lace and Liberty and it was stunning! They shared their first look in a quiet corner of the yard, and then Elena’s family had an extra surprise. Her father decided to wear his dress military uniform to the wedding and arrived fully decked out in it. They even used his sword to cut their cake later in the day. 

After the first look, these two were married by Jamie’s uncle on a platform overlooking the ocean. The ceremony was simple and sweet. Elena’s grandmother is very special to her, and she had her act as the flower girl during the ceremony. After the formalities were done, everyone enjoyed cocktail hour on the inn’s porch where there was ample fresh seasonal seafood. Towards sunset, I stole Elena and Jamie away and we took some stunning portraits on the rocky beach. Then, they started off the reception by doing their first dance on the lawn before everyone moved to the dining room, which was absolutely brimming with candles and dried flowers and partied for the rest of the night.
