I was absolutely thrilled when Jess and Nick hired me to photograph their springtime wedding. It was at Roger Williams Botanical Center, which is one of my dream venues to work at. I’m an avid gardener and I love a greenhouse and gardens. So the idea of a wedding tucked inside gorgeous glass greenhouses and surrounded by tropical plants is pretty much the best-case scenario. Nick and Jess both got ready at the Graduate Hotel in Providence, which has so many stylish nooks for taking photos. Jess wore the most ethereal wedding gown from Claire Pettibone, which was perfect for the garden setting (I also might be a bit biased because I wore Claire Pettibone for my own wedding!). They did their first look there in an intimate corner by a window, and then everyone piled into trolleys to go to the venue. We explored the grounds of the Botanical Center with their wedding party before getting everyone tucked away before the wedding ceremony began. The ceremony took place under towering palm trees and a circular floral arch, and then everyone mingled in the space for cocktail hour. The reception was in an adjoining greenhouse, and I loved the long tables and pastel florals the couple chose! There was laughing, good food, heartfelt toasts, and then lots and lots of dancing. This one was just such a pleasure to photograph.
While this wedding took place in New England, the documentary photography on film would feel just as at home in a restaurant in Perth, an estate in the Swan Valley, or a vineyard in Margaret River. I’m so excited to work in these new places with even more amazing couples who are in love. As a reminder, I am booking weddings in Perth, Margaret River, and all over Western Australia for the 2025/2026 season. If you love film and photography that is documentary, playful, and editorial, get in touch and I would love to talk with you! I also do videography on super 8 and 16mm film.
