This couple decided to rent a house and host their wedding there, and it was honestly the perfect venue. The house had gorgeous ocean views and expansive lawns and gardens. The massive wraparound porch also came in handy when the weather turned rainy later in the afternoon.
Justine got ready in the house, and I adored her lovely Sezane gown that she sourced secondhand. It had such delicate, vintage-style details. Her dusty pink and peach bouquet from Rumphius Flowers perfectly complemented it.
After a sweet first look, Justine and Mario were married in the front yard while their friends and family gathered on the porch to watch their ceremony. Mario’s best friend officiated the wedding, which made for an even more personalized and memorable ceremony. After some family portraits, everyone enjoyed cocktail hour inside, away from the rain. One of the things I loved most about this wedding was how much time this couple scheduled to just hang out with their guests. Everyone just mingled, had snacks, and caught up. Justine curated all the decor details in the space, and a family member even made the wedding cake that they cut.
After the cocktail hour, everyone headed to Talise to enjoy a fresh, seasonal dinner. The spot is one of the couple’s favorite restaurants in the area, so it made perfect sense that they would celebrate their wedding dinner there. And once again, the dinner was unhurried and leisurely. There is just something so cool and relaxed about a restaurant wedding!
I think one of the main benefits of having a smaller wedding is that you can truly tailor the experience to feel easygoing. You can linger over cocktails and dinner and talk with each one of your guests. I love it when couples really shape a celebration into something they will really enjoy.
