Drew and Lauren got married this past October at South Farms – the most gorgeous little farm with a white reception barn in western Connecticut. The day started out cloudy and rainy, but cleared up just in time for their celebration. The two had a sweet first look on the lovely dirt farm road near the venue, then did some portraits in front of the barn silos and the farm’s pond. These two are both hilarious, and you can tell how much they like to joke and laugh together.
Since the ground was still muddy from the rain, Lauren and Drew opted to have their ceremony inside South Farm’s ceremony barn – a cozy space with hanging lights and a rustic dark wood interior. I loved their bohemian ceremony setup. They used a gorgeous rug to define the ceremony space and then brought in a modern triangular ceremony backdrop. The ceremony was simple and heartfelt and one of my favorite parts was the cones of flower petals they gave to guests to throw at them as they recessed back down the aisle.
After the ceremony, guests mingled outside for cocktail hour. They played lawn games, talked and laughed, and drank delicious Two Roads Brewing beer. After the first dance and hilarious toasts, everyone enjoyed dinner and then showed off their dance moves.
Sarah Worden did the gorgeous bohemian event design and florals. And Lauren looked stunning in her Lovers Society gown with crochet and long train. And thank you to Bailey Quinlan, who second shot this one with me.
