Amy and Joe’s wedding last year was an absolute dream. From our first meeting at a cute restaurant in Beverly, Amy and I bonded over our shared love of vintage jewelry, good floral design, and nature. I was looking forward to their August wedding for months. These two hosted their bohemian DIY wedding at Wright-Locke Farm, a picturesque working farm in Winchester, Massachusetts. Both artists themselves, Amy and Joe wanted to make sure that their wedding was full of beautiful, handcrafted details and personal touches. They found inspiration for their overall wedding design from art and the venue itself. The whole wedding was a labor of love from Amy, Joe, and their friends and family. Joe hand painted their ring boxes, and Amy screen printed their beautiful fabric wedding invitations. The couple also cold brewed and packaged gallons of coffee for guests to take home with them as favors. The incredible floral design from Luna Moss was also special to Amy since she actually works there! Amy’s maid of honor even made their wedding cake, which was one of the most beautiful ones I saw all season.
Amy looked amazing in her modern lace two-piece gown from Reformation. The bridesmaids wore long mismatched boho gowns in soft grays and greens. Joe donned a stylish gray suit and the groomsmen all looked dapper in suspenders. As a finishing touch, Amy and Joe sewed matching heart patches from Tuesday Bassen into their outfits. Luna Moss used a neutral, bohemian color palette with pops of soft pink and yellow in the incredible floral design for the wedding. The textural, bohemian wedding bouquets were brimming with greenery and summer blooms like dahlias, anemones, and even mini pomegranates.
Amy and Joe were married under a beautiful old tree on a hill overlooking the barn and the farm’s gardens. They kept the ceremony decor understated to showcase the natural beauty of the venue with an airy cloth that was draped in the tree’s branches and a gorgeous statement floral arrangement. The wrote their own vows and recited them to one another in a simple and emotional ceremony while the afternoon sun streamed down on them and their guests.
By far though, the highlight for me was just seeing Amy and Joe and the love these two have for one another and their family and friends. They were just so dang happy the whole day and everyone was overjoyed for them. We walked through the tall grass and under the trees for portraits and said hello to the goats and chickens and other cute farm animals. Then, Amy and Joe returned to their reception where guests ate lobster and delicious BBQ on a harvest table stretching the length of the barn. Luna Moss created incredible garlands to run along the table and Amy and Joe sat under a delicate fern and greenery backdrop. More floral arrangements were scattered throughout the space, and cafe lights and white paper lanterns were hung from the rafters. After dining with their guests, Amy and Joe shared their first dance in a tent just outside as the sun was setting over the farm.
I was also so excited that Amy and Joe’s wedding was just featured on one of my very favorite wedding blogs, Junebug Weddings! Click the link to check it out – http://junebugweddings.com/wedding-blog/gorgeous-gray-green-winchester-wedding-wright-locke-farm/
