We knew as soon as we had our initial consult video with Jen and Marykate that their wedding was going to be really cool. They described lush jewel tones and industrial vibes, and we were so excited when their day finally rolled around. They had their wedding at The Boylston Rooms in Easthampton, Massachusetts and we loved shooting there. Their ceremony space is elegant and full of light, and there are so many nooks and vignettes there with interesting colors and textures. Plus, there are few places that are prettier than Western Massachusetts in the autumn.
After their first look and portraits, Jen and Marykate had a simple but personal wedding ceremony officiated for them by a friend. Then, the couple and their guests enjoyed the sunny day during cocktail hour on a patio before going into the industrial reception space. The toasts given by siblings and friends were funny and heartfelt. It was so clear how much everyone there adores these two both as individuals and as a couple.
After dinner and the formalities, these two ended up having a truly epic dance party. Seriously. There was breakdancing and silver cowboy hats with fringe. And just a lot of people having so much fun. It was so much fun to photograph.
We also shot some film during this wedding day. Some of the film photos are included in the post below, and all were shot on expired Portra 160 film. I love the grain it gave the photos.
