Mallory and Bobby held their wedding at South Farms in Litchfield County, Connecticut. This area of Connecticut is full of forests and beautiful farmland, so it only makes sense that one of my favorite farm venues would be located there. One of the things I love about South Farms is the sheer number of options when it comes to wedding events and photographs. They have a shady gravel road, open fields (my favorite at sunset), a lawn for a wedding ceremony, and a massive barn for cocktail hour and your reception. Plus if it rains, they have a lovely indoor ceremony space, as well.
Mallory and Bobby had a lovely spring day for their wedding. They had a first look at a shady corner of the gravel road, followed by a heartfelt wedding ceremony on the lawn behind the barn. After a cocktail hour that spanned the grounds and the barn, everyone went indoors for speeches, toasts, and dancing. Then, we snuck away outside for portraits during one of the most gorgeous sunsets I had ever seen. Apart from the venue and details that Mallory and Bobby sourced so lovingly, one of my favorite parts of their day was how willing these two were to let me experiment. They are photographers themselves, and were entirely game when I wanted them to walk through some tall grass or stand in a patch of light.
