When Julia and Jeff contacted me last year about photographing their wedding, I was immediately excited. Julia and I bonded from our very first meeting over our shared love of long boho dresses, good coffee, and animals of all kinds (they have the sweetest pup and cat that I regularly fawn over on social media).
For their engagement session, Jeff and Julia wanted to do something a little out of the box and adventurous. So, we decided to drive three hours from Boston into the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Not only is the area beautiful for photos, but I loved that I got to really know these two on the way up. They’re warm and funny and I just adore them together.
The shoot got even more adventurous when the access road we were planning on taking to a trailhead was closed early, and our quick 10 minute hike turned into a 45 minute one. But Jeff and Julia took it all in stride, and the long trip ended up being so worth it when we emerged from the trees onto a rocky overlook and saw the view and the sunset.
Through the whole thing, Julia and Jeff laughed together in the forest, snuggled up on beds of moss, and kept each other warm in the crisp autumn wind. Then, when the sun had set, we donned headlamps and made the walk down to the car to drive home.
Thanks so much to Fleur Events for creating a such a beautiful woodsy bouquet for Julia to hold, and Love Notes by June and Haley Navarro Artistry for doing a fantastic job with her hair and makeup. If you need florals or hair and makeup for your wedding definitely check them out. And can we take a moment to appreciate Julia’s bohemian dresses from Free People and Threadsence?
