Nick and Shai: A Boston Elopement

Nick and Shai chose to elope with their closest friends and family this September, and I’m so glad they asked me to be there to document it. The day started as they hung out with their families and got ready with each other. I loved that they chose to get ready together and spend more time together on their wedding day. Then, we all piled into cars and drove to Boston City Hall, where they were married.  The ceremony was short but beautiful and heartfelt, and was attended by their parents.

After lots of hugs and pausing to take some photos in and around City Hall, we went to the Boston Public Gardens for family portraits. After that, Nick, Shai, and I all wandered around in Beacon Hill for a while to take couples portraits. We found cobbled alleyways and flower shops for them to snuggle in front of. We even stopped in at one of their favorite bars so they could play some arcade games! We finished the afternoon at the MIT Sailing Pavilion. Nick and Shai had one of their first and most memorable dates there, so it was important for them to have some portraits. It was blustery and stormy but they didn’t mind – and the view back to the Boston skyline was incredible. So – they laughed and talked among the brightly-colored boats and we watched the people sailing on the Charles until it was time for them to head home and join their families for a dinner at one of their favorite restaurants.

Thanks to Bloom Couture for Shai’s amazing bouquet and to Jenny Luu for her lovely hair and makeup. And her gorgeous dress was BHLDN.
